today was a good day!

Being back home has it's advantages! Not only did we get to tryout Auntie Katie's $5 thrift store find! We got to use this awesome (any outdoor/kid gear you find for $5 is awesome!) backpack in the high country on a short walk!

NOTE: I started out carrying this 19lb kid, and then his papa had to take over! I think giving birth has persuaded me to hand over the heavy lifting whenever possible. I don't have anything to prove anymore...I gave birth to a healthy little person!! Now I can just sit around and eat bonbons all day! :)

A summer in California

So the summer is pretty much done now. We had our grand adventure driving to California with a three month old (and driving back to MT with a five month old!) CC was a road warrior! We crossed our fingers and thought positively the whole way...and it worked! 17 hours both ways in a car totally warrants a few melt downs, we as adults almost lost it a couple times. But our kid only got fussy when really tired, and then was easy to get to sleep and slept for some good stretches of road. Granted it's not the drive 'til we need gas, let's just get there type of driving, but he definitely is our kid...a little nomad! I'd say all in all he was fussy for maybe 6 hours total of the 34 hours of driving...we even let him cry himself to sleep once thinking it would be torture for us to listen to him, and 15 minutes (of torture) later he was asleep!

our little "truck-traveling" man!

What a fantastic trip!! A week on Lake Tahoe with all my (husband's) family for the 4th of July! At the "Fahrm" for preparations for our big party. Visiting with friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, parents/grandparents to CC, and one very proud Great Nanea!! I'm so happy he is going to know one of the greats! What else?....Weddings! Parties! Oh, I'm forgetting so much it was such a packed full summer!! OUR wedding celebration party!! Best day ever!! Anyways, it's nice to be home now, but trips back to California...THE OCEAN!!...always make me realize how hard it is living so far away from family! Especially now that there is a baby involved! Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this summer happen!!

A bit out of order...but worth noting!

CC had his first (and second actually) trip to Lake Tahoe, and I had to dip him in the beautiful water! We stayed in a beautiful house on the lake!

He had his first hike up to "the family rock" in Truckee

And so much fun in the water, he never wants to get out of h2o

oh yeah, and work!

This piece was really special to make. A family friend lost their baby at 21 weeks pregnant, her son was stillborn. I was pregnant at the time so all the emotions of this were even more intense for me. The piece above was made for her. The gemstones are amethyst and onyx February's birthstones.
AND yes I'm just getting to posting this 8 months later!

Bridesmaid's jewelry for a fantastic Alabama wedding I was sorry to miss in JUNE!

This client sent in these stones and wanted a necklace made with them, (The client is a geologist). It was fun incorporating to loves of mine in a piece. I have always loved rocks, and how they are formed
ALSO done in June!! Having a baby makes being on the computer less and less appealing! I will try to keep up a little better as we head into fall, and colder weather!

Quick preview of an awesome party!

Thank you Sunni Hammer! More to come...at some point! ~xo
